Gibsonton, Fla. — A 56-year-old man terrorized shoppers at the same Walmart that received a mass shooting threat days earlier.
Hillsborough County Sheriff deputies responded to the store, on 9205 Gibsonton Drive at about 12:30 p.m., Thursday.
There they approached Michael Dale Hudson as he was blocking the liquor store entrance with his golf cart.
Hudson was demanding to speak to the manager.
The man suddenly drove away while deputies were trying to talk to him.
They say he headed toward the main entrance to the store narrowly missing several pedestrians along the way.
Deputies say he crashed the golf cart through the stores glass doors and drove inside the store.
The Sheriff's Office released Surveillance video which shows the golf cart going through the entrance.
Hudson struck several customers inside the store with his vehicle before crashing into a cash register.
Deputies immediately took him into custody.
The Sheriff’s Office said all of the victims were treated at the scene by paramedics and did not need to go to the hospital.
However, Hudson was taken to a Tampa hospital, but deputies did not disclose why he required medical treatment.
Hudson is charged with multiple counts of aggravated battery/aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and charges of trespassing after warning, resisting arrest without violence and felony criminal mischief, the Sheriff’s Office said.
