Police search for Batman bandit, accused of breaking into churches

IRONDALE, Ala. — Batman usually combats crime, but the Dark Knight has been caught on camera allegedly committing crimes in Alabama.

A burglar who was wearing a Batman mask broke into a church in Irondale, Alabama, two times in the past month, AL.com reported.

The King’s Way Church was broken into on Dec. 11. Police said a keyboard and guitar were taken.

A second break-in at the church happened on Jan. 6. Another two guitars were taken at that time, AL.com reported.

Both times, police said, the man used a rock to break into the church, WBRC reported.

But Batman has been spotted breaking into churches in Jasper, Alabama; Shelby County, Alabama; Walker County, Alabama; Georgia and Tennessee, AL.com reported.

On the night of January 9, 2020 two churches within the city limits of Jasper and one in the county were burglarized. Musical instruments and other electronics were stolen. The pictures and video below show the culprit responsible for these crimes. One church in Cullman, Alabama, which was broken into between Jan 5 and 7, had about $16,000 worth of equipment stolen and property damage done, WBRC reported.
