Watch: Big ol’ bear struts through Altamonte Springs neighborhood

Altamonte Springs, Fla. — A video posted on Reddit Sunday shows a “big ol’ bear” walking past the front door of  a home in Altamonte Springs.

The video taken from next to the front door shows the giant black bear casually strutting across the tile walkway - just a few feet from the entrance.

When asked where this was taken? User ‘Doodlist,’ who posted the footage replied that it was taken in the Spring Oaks neighborhood along the little Wekiva River.

The huge animal has sparked a lot of interest with some trying to guess its weight.

“Wow that's the biggest one I’ve seen, “ wrote brockisawesome.

Doodlist replied with “Same. Had to be 600+lb.”

The bear did not stop to say hello, it continued on its way leaving the internet to relish in its existence.

Keep in mind it’s not unusual to see bears in Seminole County since part of the county is in the Ocala National Forest.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) says on it's website that Florida's black bears average between 250-400 pounds for a male, females are usually smaller.

FWC also estimates that close to 1,200 black bears live in Central Florida.
