Universal Orlando asks passholders about reopening after COVID

Orlando, Fla. — Universal Parks has sent out a survey to passholders, seeking their input about reopening the park and giving hints as to what that may look like.

Florida is currently in phase one of reopening amid the spread of the novel coronavirus and Universal has been closed since March.

In an email, Park officials asked for feedback on how the virus impacted and continues to impact lives and asked for input on special topics “

including the steps we should take to safely welcome our guests back to our parks when the time comes.”

I was one of the people who received the email which touched on topics such as:

My current financial situation amid the COVD-19 pandemic and whether I was an essential worker or whether I thought I had contracted the disease.

How recently I visited the park ( March 12th for me - the day before they closed!)

It asked how soon I would consider revisiting the park once it opens and two questions focused on December 2020.

There was a hypothetical question asking if I would be comfortable visiting if the park reopens at 50%.

There were many questions on what could be steps they are considering once the gates do open, like temperature checks, GPS tracking and self-declaration medical forms.

They also asked about moving stores to kiosks outside, spacing passengers on rides and self-service beverage service.

It asked me to rank what I considered the most important changes to make in order to stay safe.

I chose temperature checks, readily available hand sanitizer stations, face mask requirements,  and open doors to bathrooms and stores as the most important.

Interestingly, the survey also asked if I would consider paying more to visit Universal Studios only, with reduced capacity and behind the scene tours. I chose no (mostly because you could not use an annual pass or one that you already own for this option.)

There were also questions about if and when I was considering a visit to Walt Disney World.
