OCPS to investigate complaints of student dressed in Hitler costume

Winter Park, Fla. — Orange County Public School administrators will not confirm specifics, but they say they will investigate after several parents called the Orlando Holocaust Education Center to complain about a student dressed as Hitler on Halloween.

WESH 2 News reports that the student walked around the Winter Park High School Ninth Grade Center Campus giving the Nazi salute.

An OCPS spokesperson told WESH it was a "disturbing incident" and said disciplinary actions will be handed out in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct.

The district also said it will continue to educate students about anti-Semitism.

This was no the only incident, In Utah, an elementary school principal and a teacher at are on leave for allowing a student dressed as Hitler to march in a Halloween parade.

The school district issued this apology Friday:

“The Davis School District apologizes for what took place yesterday. It does not tolerate speech, images or conduct that portray or promote hate in any form. The district is taking the matter very seriously and is investigating every aspect of the situation. The principal and teacher have been placed on paid administrative leave.”
