Florida Senate staffer details groping allegations against local Senator

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — State Senator Jack Latvala has been accused by six women of inappropriate comments and touching. On Wednesday, an alleged victim stepped forward to identify herself and file a formal complaint.

POLITICO obtained the three-page report written by Rachel Perrin Rogers, 35. She is a fellow Republican and an aide to Florida Senate Majority Leader Wilton Simpson.

The complaint details the staff member’s encounters with Latvala beginning four years ago.

“Senator Latvala made unwelcome and unwanted comments about my clothing, my breasts, and my legs.” Rogers explained, “If I had to approach him about a bill or an issue on behalf of my boss, he would stare at my chest and look me up and down without giving any indication he was listening to the public policy issue I was there to discuss.”

Her report goes on to describe a “traumatic” event at the Governor’s Club Lounge.

“He started to rub my leg. He was talking to me but I could not hear or understand what he was saying,” Robin wrote.

Latvala has denied all accusations against him.
