Fired Universal employee wins job back in guns dispute

Fired Universal Orlando employee Dean Kumanchik is being welcomed back after a legal spat over a gun stolen from his parked car.

Universal bans employeees from keeping guns, even in their locked vehicles, under a state law exemption.

His attorney, Richard Celler wrote us:

"We are pleased to announce that a confidential settlement agreement was reached, and our client has been returned to work in his prior position.  The right to carry is a vital one and we take threats to that right seriously. Mr. Kumanchik is back to doing what he enjoys as a result of this lawsuit,  and it was an honor to have represented him."

Kumanchik's gun was stolen in December and when Univeral learned of his theft report to police, he was fired.

The Orlando Sentinel asked Celler if his client would be returning to the park with his gun. The response: "I didn't ask and I don't want to know."
