Orlando, Fla. — Neighbors in a quiet Baldwin Park community called 911 after hearing explosions Tuesday Morning, now two men are in custody facing a variety of serious charges.
It happened in the 4400 block of Beach Boulevard near Lake Susannah. Orange County deputies told Channel 9, WFTV that when they responded two men had set off some type of acid bombs.
Police said 57-year-old Bruce Steffenhagen was cooperative, but a man later identified as 35-year-old Nathan Martin was not cooperative, which led to a standoff lasting several hours.
Deputies notified the bomb squad to check out the suspicious devices and the Sheriff's office bomb squad also responded to the scene. Several other people in the home were also uncooperative according to deputies.
"After a search warrant was obtained, SWAT members cleared the home for (the bomb squad) to gather evidence,"
Investigators said they released four people after questioning them. Steffenhagen and Martin are charged with making, possessing, throwing, projecting, placing or discharging a destructive device.
A Federal Bureau of Investigation bomb technician was also called to the home.
The incident remains under investigation.
