Brevard County, Fla — Firefighters in Brevard County continue battling a massive brush fire, with officials saying the inferno has engulfed nearly 300 acres near homes and a horse farm.
Firefighters have been working all day to contain the wildfire just west of Interstate 95 near Port St. John.
As of 9 p.m. Wednesday, the fire was 90 percent contained and the threat to several nearby homes eliminated as well.
Firefighters said crews will monitor the brush fire throughout the night, making sure no hot spots flare up.
Florida Highway Patrol believes a car fire hours earlier led to the brush fire.
