Rebuild planned for giant 'French Fry Box' on I-Drive

The McDonald's restaurant on International Drive and Sand Lake Road is being rebuilt, as part of planned "tourism enhancements" in the area, according to owner Oerther Foods, Ic.

“For many years, our World’s Largest Entertainment McDonald’s has been one of the most renowned McDonald’s restaurants in the world”, said owner-operator Gary Oerther.

"We are excited to reveal, over the next several months, how this new location will deliver on the unique dining and entertainment experiences you have come to expect in a whole new way.”

When completed, the almost 19,000 square foot restaurant will be one of the most modern McDonald's in the world.

Construction will begin this summer and it open in the spring 2016. The new restaurant will be built next to the current location, allowing the current restaurant to remain open during most of the construction.
