OPD officer injured in incident that sent car into house

Orlando police are searching for a suspect after a chase came to a crashing end in an elderly woman's living room.
 
According to police, around 7:30 p.m. officers in an unmarked vehicle pulled over a car near Carver Shores and asked the three occupants to get out.
"The driver put the car into drive and the officer grabbed him and the driver drove down the road with the officer still hanging onto him, which caused the officer to be dragged down the road," OPD Lt. Darnell Hill said.
 
Hill said the officer let go and fell, while the vehicle sped down Frazier Avenue. He said the driver of the vehicle then lost control while rounding a curve and slammed into a house.

"The structure took significant damage from the vehicle," Hill said.
 
Hill said the three people in the vehicle jumped out and ran.
 
Police quickly caught two of them but the third has yet to be found.
 
Kennis Miller told Channel 9's Angela Jacobs that the house the vehicle slammed into belongs to his 82-year-old mother. He said he received a call telling him about the accident.
 
"(They said) there was a car in my mother's living room. I just took off. (I) didn't wait to hear anything else," Miller said.
 
Miller said he's thankful that he lives just minutes away, and that his mother, who usually sits on her front porch at that time of night, just happened to be away at a weekly class.
 
"Thank God nobody got hurt. My stepdad almost got hurt, but he's fine too," Miller said.
Code Enforcement officials will check the home to see if it is structurally sound.
 
Police said the officer who was injured suffered road rash and abrasions. He was taken to a hospital to be treated and is expect to be fine.

Police are still searching for the third person from the vehicle. They have not said what charges will be filed in the incident.
