‘Wheel of Fortune’ apologizes for ‘slave images’

The popular game show ‘Wheel of Fortune’ is under fire after using images of slaves in one of their episodes.

Twitter user Joshua Itiola noticed the mistake in an episode that originally aired during the show's 'Southern Charm' week back in March.

“Someone please tell me why @WheelofFortune has slaves in their ‘Southern Charm Week’ images?” writes @joshitiola.

“We regret the use of this background image,” said Executive Producer Harry Friedman. He says the images will be replaced in future rebroadcasts of the episode.

According to Fox News, the image was taken in 2005 by producers while they were on-location at the Oak Alley Plantation in Louisiana. Oak Alley says while they don't hire people to portray slaves, their tour guides do wear periodic clothing.
