MIAMI, Fla. — Governor Rick Scott told leaders from the Venezuelan community here of his efforts to block all state agencies from investing in companies that do business with the Venezuelan government, led by socialist President Nicolas Maduro.
Last year, Governor Scott and the State Board of Administration passed a resolution to ban state investments that would benefit Maduro’s oppressive government.
Mob violence and looting are growing as people hunger for food, according to news reports from Venezuela.
