Rollins College honors Mister Rogers with free tour at Cornell Fine Arts Museum

Winter Park, Fla. — Monday marks the 50th anniversary of the hit PBS show "Mister Rogers Neighborhood", and Rollins College in Winter Park is doing something special for the famed star.

Fred Rogers, who turns out to be a 1951 graduate from Rollins College, met his wife Sara Joanne Byrd there and majored in music composition.

College officials announced that a free self guided walking tour will take place to celebrate the adored alum.

The tour will take place at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum and will be available from February 20 through March 20th during the following business hours:

Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday- Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday Noon to 5 p.m.

The tour starts at the museum, which features Roger's sweater and sneakers on display and includes a stops at the Tiedtke Concert Hall, Strong Hall and the Olin Library.

A biopic starring Tom Hanks entitled "You Are My Friend" is also in the works.
