Disney cast members protest near Theme Park in ongoing wage battle.

Orlando, Fla. — Hundreds of unionized Disney workers came out Thursday evening to protest in support of their union's wage proposal to Disney.

The protest was held at the Crossroads Entrance to Walt Disney World on state road 535 and Hotel Plaza Boulevard.  It was slated as a silent protest, but became so loud that Orange County Deputies arrived to disperse the crowd and threatened to arrest people calling their rally an "unlawful assembly."

Unionized Disney workers, everyone from food and beverage to people in costume are calling for about a 37 percent increase in pay, what they’re calling a “living wage.” The company offered a much smaller 2.5 percent wage increase.

Union representatives will sit down with Disney officials again on Tuesday Night.

Disney has said it will freeze the starting minimum wage at $10 an hour for all new workers.
