TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida’s Department of Health formally filed a plan Monday to create the rules and guidelines to sell medical marijuana across the state.
A final plan is due by July 3rd and must be in effect by October 3rd. Health Department spokeswoman Mara Gambineri told the Palm Beach Post that her department is crafting rules that align with the bill passed by the state Legislature.
The bill passed by Florida lawmakers still blocks the sale of smokeable marijuana products, but a required waiting period to receive treatment has been removed.
Governor Rick Scott has indicated he will sign it into law.
