Winter Park, Fla — Winter Park Police confirmed that two people were hit and killed by a Southbound Amtrak train near 21st and Palmetto Wednesday afternoon.
Officers have identified the victims as two women and police say they intentionally committed suicide.

Amtrak told News 96.5 that 80 people were on board Train 91, known as the Silver Star, that runs from Miami to New York and that no one on the train was injured.
An Amtrak spokesperson said they are fully cooperating in the investigation and said the train resumed service at 2:22 p.m. and will make its regular scheduled stops.

Meantime, the area SunRail trains P319 and P320 that run from Winter Park to Sand Lake Road have been cancelled as the investigation continues.

SunRail reported their trains were back on schedule by 3:00 p.m.
