Watch: Pick-up truck driver heads straight for Tallahassee protesters

Tallahassee, Fla. — Witnesses say three white people in a red pickup truck with a Georgia license revved plate first yelled at the crowd of Black Lives Matter protesters in Tallahassee Saturday afternoon, then headed straight for them.

The driver reportedly revved the engine before moving toward the crowd, which scattered.

One man ended up on the hood of the truck before it stopped.

Tallahassee Mayor John E. Dailey later tweeted that "no one was seriously injured" and that the driver of the vehicle was "immediately taken into custody."

In Gainesville, a similar scene on the same afternoon.

Police say a 64-year-old man revved his engine before turning his Kia Soul on a crowd of nearly 1,000 activists then allegedly pointed a gun at them.

Witnesses told police they had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the vehicle.

William John Connelly of  Williston, was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated assault.

No injuries were reported.

Similar incidents were reported in Vancouver and Denver.
