Pinnellas Park, Fla. — You’ve heard the saying, if there’s water there’s probably a gator.
Lately, there has been lots and lots of water and proving the cliche to be true - there was also an alligator.
Roger Light Jr. was surprised to see the large alligator swimming in floodwater on the side of the road while he was stopped at a traffic light in St. Petersburg last week.
He said in a Facebook post, that not only did the sight startle him - but he said the reptile came right toward his passenger door.

Wildlife experts believe the nearly 8-foot long gator is the same one that was spotted wandering in traffic in the same area Thursday before it was trapped and removed.
