Texas couple charged after newborn baby found dead in bucket of tar, deputies say

PRINCETON, Texas — A Texas couple is behind bars after deputies discovered the body of a newborn baby inside a bucket filled with tar, the Collin County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday.

According to KTVT and KXAS, deputies charged 42-year-old Roland Grabowski and wife Donna, 41, both of Princeton, with child endangerment or abandonment, abuse of a corpse and evidence tampering after investigators found the couple’s 1-week-old child, Micah Grabowski, dead.

Authorities first responded to the couple's Highridge Road home Saturday after receiving a call about a baby whose death may not have been reported, according to the news outlets. Although the Grabowskis initially didn't cooperate with deputies, the pair later said they had found Micah dead in their bed late last month, KTVT reported.

Investigators then searched the Grabowskis' property, including a shed behind their home, the Sheriff's Office said. That's where deputies said they found the child's body in the bucket.

Roland Grabowski is being held on a $925,000 bond, while Donna Grabowski is being held on a $1,075,000 bond, according to KTVT.
