According to WSOC-TV, Devonte Warren, 25, was arrested Thursday on a charge of failing to secure a firearm after the toddler, whose family was visiting Warren at a Camp Greene Street home, found the man's gun and fired it at himself about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Although emergency crews initially said the victim had suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound, the child is now in stable condition at a Charlotte hospital, WSOC reported.
