Middle age doesn't have the reputation of being a whole lot of fun, and a new study pinpoints the least happy age for us, and it's right in that time -- 47.2 years old.
Dartmouth College researchers compared data from 132 countries and found a U-shaped "happiness curve" over a lifespan, which hits its low point at 47.2 years old.
David Blanchflower wrote in a paper out yesterday (January 13th), "The curve's trajectory holds true in countries where the median wage is high and where it is not, and where people tend to live longer and where they don't."
One reason for that being the low point is that's around when people's aspirations fade, as they learn to accept and adapt to their strengths and weaknesses.
