Winn-Dixie launches ‘Round Up’donation program for Folds of Honor families

Jacksonville, Fla. — Jacksonville based Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie, Harveys and BI-LO Supermarket stores, has launched a community donation program to benefit Folds of Honor.

The “round up” program gives customers the opportunity to round up their grocery bill to the next dollar amount, with all proceeds going to Folds of Honor families. You can also walk into any Winn-Dixie store in central Florida and simply make a donation in any amount you choose.

Shawn Sloan, regional vice president of Winn-Dixie tells News 96.5 WDBO the grocer “is committed to supporting Folds of Honor’s mission to provide educational scholarships to the children and spouses impacted by a loved one’s sacrifice for the United States military.”

Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 20,000 educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

Sloan says, “The community response in the first week has been amazing to see.”
