Florida Man arrested after drawing violent scene on child’s homework

Port St. Joe, Fla. — A 33 year old Gulf County man has been arrested after police say he drew an image of school violence on a student’s homework assignment.

The Gulf County Sheriff’s office said, Robert Paul Alexander Edwards is facing charges after the staff at Port St. Joe Elementary School contacted the school resource deputy about a drawing that showed the school on fire, a person running from the building on fire, and other people being shot.

An investigation revealed that Edwards drew the alarming picture, which also included the words, "Pew, Pew, Pew" next to a stick figure drawing of a person with a gun.

Edwards now faces charges of a written threat to kill or do bodily harm to others.

Gulf County Sheriff Mike Harrison told WPEC TV that was no indication Edwards had a plan to carry out any violence.
