Entrance sign stolen from National Forest in Washington State

GREENWATER, Wash. — The U.S. Forest Service is searching for a National Forest entrance sign that was stolen sometime last week.

Colton Whitworth, of Enumclaw Forest Service, told KIRO 7 the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest entrance was likely stolen during the significant rainfall, but it's unknown exactly when it was taken.

The sign is about 4 feet by 8 feet long, weighs about 150 pounds; it was located at service road 70 near Greenwater.

Whitworth said the Forest Service is hoping to find it or replace it, which would cost about $2,000.

Anyone who has information about the sign is asked to call the North Bend Ranger Station at 425-888-1421.
