Drew Barrymore getting daytime talk show

LOS ANGELES — Drew Barrymore is the latest celebrity to get her own talk show.

Variety reported that CBS will air the actress' daytime talk show next fall.

"It is beyond my wildest dreams to have this opportunity for a daily talk show," Barrymore said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm truly thrilled and honored to be creating this show with CBS."

Barrymore joins an increasingly crowded space in celebrity-hosted daytime talk. Singer Kelly Clarkson recently started "The Kelly Clarkson Show," on NBC. Nick Cannon announced he will have a talk show produced by Debmar-Mercury, the same company behind Wendy Williams' hit talk show.

Not every celebrity has had success in daytime. Over the summer, actor Jerry O'Connell had a test run of his show, "Jerry O," but it wasn't picked up.
