CHICAGO — A Chicago toddler was shot Monday during a gun struggle between his parents, authorities said.
According to The Associated Press, police said the incident occurred Monday night in the family's home. The victim, a 1-year-old boy, was struck in the head and taken to a nearby hospital, officials said.
Although the child's father initially told investigators that a gunman had shot the boy from the street, detectives learned that the child was hit as the parents fought over a gun, which went off during the dispute, the AP reported.
The boy remains in stable condition, authorities said. His parents have been detained but not yet charged, the AP reported.
