7:45 a.m. update: There is NO active shooter, according to MacDill AFB officials. There is a report of shots fired near the base and they are assisting Tampa police with the investigation

The alert sent out says the shooter is near buildings "1180, 1156, 1185 and 4899 Radar Road, entrance to control tower."
They are advising to lock all doors and stay in place.
