Woman found dead in Sanford home after husband asks for well being check

Sanford, Fla. — Sanford police say a woman was found dead in a Sanford home after her husband told deputies they should check on her.

On Friday night just before 11:50 p.m., police in Lake Mary found the husband in a parked silver SUV on railroad tracks at Country Club Road and Lake Mary Boulevard. The husband then told police that they should do a well being check on his wife at 100 Sycamore Court.

Lake Mary officers contacted the Sanford Police Department, which upon arriving at the address, found a woman unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

So far, police have not released a cause of death, but have said that the husband is a person of interest and is being questioned. They also are treating this as a homicide investigation.
