Winter Park: ’Think Twice’ about tossing trash

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Recycle your disposable batteries, compost your dryer lint, but throw away your plastic ribbons and bows.

It’s some of the advice in a comprehensive list of household items you might want to throw in the trash, but wonder if its recyclable.

The City of Winter Park’s Sustainability Program has launched a customized version of ReCollect Systems, Inc.’s waste management communication platform, called “Think Twice, Don’t Waste It WP.”

The tool on the city’s website also helps you find your street’s collection schedule and even to sign up for reminders from the city that are sent to your email or phone.
