3 I-4 Ultimate construction workers hurt only days after safety review

Orlando, Fla. — Less than two weeks after an 'I-4 Ultimate Project' worker was killed in an accident on the job, three workers were hurt on the job Friday.

It happened just after 10 a.m, the three construction workers fell about 15 feet Friday on the ramp from Garland Avenue to I-4 Eastbound near Colonial Drive.

Orlando Fire District Chief Creed McClelland told Eyewitness News Channel 9, the men were on a wooden platform pouring concrete when it broke.

The workers sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, according to I-4 Ultimate contractor SGL Constructors.

This incident happened just a few days after work on the project resumed. Work had been suspended for a week after a worker was struck and killed by an iron pipe near Wymore Road on Feb. 4. That incident was the fourth time a worker has died since the I-4 Ultimate project started in 2015
