Miami, FL — The Florida department of Law Enforcement now believes a 17-year-old girl missing from Miami could be related to an Amber Alert that was issued Tuesday in Titusville.
The Titusville Police Department said Thursday, it had "received interest" from Miami-Dade Police investigators into a missing person case involving 17 year old Dania Bellegarde, who disappeared from Miami on May 7.
"While we cannot discuss Miami’s case, we can speak for ourselves in that there is interest on both sides to find out if the girl forced into a vehicle in Titusville could be the missing girl from Miami," Titusville Deputy Police Chief Todd Hutchinson said.
Tuesday, a witness told Titusville police they had seen a girl who appeared to be about 15 years old being pulled into charcoal colored SUV. They gave a description which led to an Amber Alert for the unidentified girl.
On Thursday, the witness changed her mind and said Bellegarde could be the girl she saw.
