Three Disney resorts remove ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs from rooms

Walt Disney World is tightening security measures at its three monorail resorts: "Do Not Disturb" signs have been removed from the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary resorts.
Disney World says they are swapping the signs with "room occupied" ones.  Part of new security measures include requiring a Disney employee to enter your room at least once a day, even if you choose not to have it cleaned.  The "room occupied" signs will alert maintenance and staff that guests are currently in their rooms but will not stop staff from entering.

Some people have reportedly speculated that the new security measures are a response to the Las Vegas shooting at the Mandalay Bay where 58 people were killed over the summer.  According to WDWNT, the three resorts have similar vantage points into crowded areas, but Disney has not commented on reasoning behind the new measures.

It’s expected Disney World will roll out the new security measures for all hotels in the coming weeks.
