Sunny skies, lower humidity on tap - but watch for rip currents

Orlando, Fla. — Our Central Florida weather is looking beautiful over the next couple of days, with sunny skies on tap and lower humidity.

"(It's) really looking beautiful over the next couple of days. We're gonna have a couple of cool morning starts with temperatures in the 60s," said WFTV Channel 9 meteorologist Kassandra Crimi.

Central Floridians can expect mostly sunny skies and dry conditions with daytime highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Crimi said she is tracking another front that could bring higher rain chances to Central Florida around Wednesday.

However, there is a warning from the National Weather Service (NWS) for strong rip currents at local beaches.

Over the weekend, Volusia County lifeguards had to rescue 147 people from the rough surf, one man from Tennessee died at the hospital after he was pulled from the water Sunday.

The NWS statement says, “ While life-threatening rip currents will be present all day, the threat will be highest between noon and 6 PM due to the tidal cycle.”

The best advice if you are heading to the beach is to swim near a lifeguard.
