Seminole County Inmate facing first degree murder charges dies after extended illness

Seminole County, Fla. — Seminole County deputies say that an inmate who was facing first degree murder charges has passed away at a local hospital after dealing with a long term illness.

75 year old Elue Watson was arrested back in August after reporting a well being check on his wife, 82 year old Alice Watson. Investigators later found her body tied to a bed in their Sanford home and had deep cuts. They also found his SUV on railroad tracks, which contained a machete on the front passenger floorboard. Watson also at the time had blood on his clothing.

Watson was booked at the John E Polk Correctional Facility for the first degree murder charges.

He died on Saturday and had been under medical care since December 2nd due to a pre-existing medical condition. Police have not specified what specific medical condition Watson was facing.
