Scenes along Brevards Highway A1A as residents prep for Dorian

Brevard County, Fla. — Residents were in full prep mode Sunday as Hurricane Dorian unleashed it’s wrath on the Bahamas.

Many stores were boarded up, and some were closed.

Others had “We R Open” scrawled across the wood with hopes that customers would stop by.

Large Bucket trucks were spotted up and down A1A,  some crews were working to trim any last trees that

might pose a threat to power lines if strong winds knock them over.

Others were positioning themselves for the aftermath.

Some businesses owners used humor, one sign stating “Dorian hurricane party until we are run off.”

That would be sometime Monday as evacuations on Brevards barrier islands become mandatory.

Some other interesting sights include a car at a drive-thru window while the rest of the restaurant is boarded up and then there is the psychic’s office with windows shuttered - shouldn’t they know where Dorian is headed?
