In recent years, politics has become somewhat of a taboo subject in the United States of America and, with the next Presidential election just months away, there is a new PBS FRONTLINE documentary set to air Monday that looks closely at how we got here.
America's Great Divide: From Obama to Trump examines the state of politics in our country and why it's become such a divisive topic.
As America enters a crucial election year, FRONTLINE's award-winning political team offers vital context on the rise of a toxic political environment that has paralyzed Washington and deepened the gulf between Americans. News 96.5 WDBO spoke with the producer and director of the film. Michael Kirk says the key to understanding what divides us politically as Americans is the key to moving forward.
“If we don’t get this right about how we deal with each other and talk to each other, and come to some understanding of just how bad things are in terms of culture, attitudes, our politics, America will not be the American we thought it was,” said Kirk.
America’s Great Divide airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. and tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m.
