Orlando’s top cop planning ‘Meet Your Chief’ events in March

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department has a tradition of introducing newly appointed chiefs to the community.

With that in mind, OPD's new chief Orlando Rolon is planning to hold six "Meet Your Chief" events between March 4 and April 1.

Chief Rolon spoke with News 96.5 WDBO about what he hopes to accomplish during the events.

“It will give me an opportunity to give our vision, my vision, the vision of the agency, where we’re headed moving forward under my leadership and that of my executive staff,” said Rolon.

Chief Rolon says he plans to educate citizens on how OPD is integrating new technology into crime fighting.

Events are scheduled in each of Orlando’s six districts.

Tuesday, March 5, Rosemont Neighborhood Center

Monday, March 11, Northlake Park YMCA

Tuesday, March 12, Dr. J.B. Callahan Neighborhood Center

Wednesday, March 27, Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center

Monday, April 1, Wadeview Neighborhood Center
