Orlando Police Department Offering Women’s Self-Defense Class Next Month

The Orlando Police Department is offering Women’s Self-Defense Training this summer.

There is one class left.  It starts August 15, at  the Northwest Neighborhood Center.

Corporal Kevlon Kirkpatrck tells News 96.5 WDBO that groups can also arrange for an officer to come to their community.  Kirkpatrick said additional classes may also be offered later this year at OPD Headquarters.

The class is free and open to women over the age of 18.

The class covers basic self-defense options while motivating women to think about their personal safety at all times.
