Orlando, Fla — The Orlando City Council will consider a ban on plastic straws, plastic bags and Styrofoam at Mondays regular meeting which begins at 2 p.m.
The proposal would prohibit vendors from selling or dispersing the items on city property and calls for the use of other biodegradable materials.
This includes the Amway Center, Dr. Phillips Center, Camping World Stadium and food trucks on city streets.
It also encompasses all city facilities, city venues, city parks and permitted events, such marches and races.
The city says the ban will not be a financial burden on the vendors.
If the ban is approved, it will take effect October 1, 2019.
