Orange County Sheriff John Mina is calling for state lawmakers to act on proposed legislation aimed at keeping stolen guns off central Florida streets.
Sheriff Mina held a press conference Monday morning where he joined the bill's sponsors, State Representative Joy Goff-Marcil of Maitland and State Senator Victor Torres of Kissimmee to talk about it.

HB 923 would require gun store owners to secure their firearms after hours with either a steel rod or cable or in a safe.
State lawmakers will consider the bill during the upcoming legislative session next year.
