Two women and one man have been charged in connection to an aggravated battery and false imprisonment at a hotel, according to a statement by the Ocala Police Department.
Officials say Devon “Brooke” McDougal-Stegall, 27, and Stacy Gonzalez, 37, were taken into custody for allegedly kidnapping and beating another woman. Morris Beebe, 65, is being charged with principal to false imprisonment.
OPD said officers responded to the Holiday Inn on 3600 SW 38th Avenue on Friday after hotel guests reported hearing a woman yelling for help from a balcony. Responding officers found a 25-year-old woman severely beaten with fresh blood on her face. They said she was transported to a local hospital.
According to the victim, Stegall and Gonzalez had tied her to a chair in the hotel room and beat her while Beebe watched.
A tweet by OPD said five individuals known to the victim were initially detained and the attack was not random.
