OPD: Body found in St. Lucie County believed to be that of Orlando outlet store shooter

Fort Pierce, Fla — The man accused of shooting and killing a former co-worker inside an Orlando outlet store has likely been found dead inside his car in Fort Pierce, Orlando police announced Friday.

Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon said a jogger spotted suspect Daniel Everett’s dark gray 2012 Kia Sorento in condo complex a parking lot Friday morning. When investigators arrived, they said they found a body in the car, which they believe to be Everett.

"At this point, we’re very confident the person we were looking for has been located. It’s unfortunate that it had to end this way,” Rolón said.

Everett is accused of shooting and killing 37-year-old Eunice Vazquez at the Under Armour store at the Orlando International Premium Outlets after 8 p.m. Monday. Police said he had been fired from his job at the store that morning.

Police said Everett had not been seen since the night of the shooting, when his car was spotted more than 100 miles away in St. Lucie County. Investigators believe he may have killed himself shortly after.

“The goal was always to bring Mr. Everett into custody safely. We feel terrible for his family and they are shattered,” said Detective Teresa Sprague.

Those who knew Everett, including his wife and daughter, were shocked that he'd turned to violence after his firing. Rolón said there was no past indication that would lead people to think he would do such a thing.
