Navy’s viral ‘sky penis’ gets its own Christmas ornament

Well, nothing says Merry Christmas like an ornament depicting one of the most viral stories of the year.

For only $10, you can adorn your Christmas tree with a wooden ornament inspired by the time when two U.S. naval aviators drew a penis in the sky.

You may recall the incident on November 16: The pilots in a  EA-18G Growler drew a penis in the sky over Okanogan County, Washington, causing a mix of outrage and applause on social media. Many were ticked off that the military was using taxpayers dollars to draw a penis in the sky; others weren't so offended and it gave them a good laugh.

Some pilots at NAS Whidbey did some sky writing today.

🤦🏻‍♂️

The website PLANEFORM, which sells aviation-themed novelty items, is now taking orders for a Christmas ornament that celebrates the peculiar skywriting.

"This wood ornament is exactly what it looks like," reads the item description. "Precisely laser cut using our Epilog CNC Laser, you'll get an amazingly accurate depiction of the most ridiculous moment in aviation for all of 2017."
