Apopka, Fla. — Orange County deputies say they have arrested a man who used a stolen car and rammed into a deputy's car during a pursuit in Apopka Saturday morning.
They say just before 12:30 a.m., they found the stolen car parked at a home on 1706 Mid Summer Avenue. Once the driver, now identified as 25 year old William Robinson, got into the car, they attempted to pull him over. That's when Robinson hit a deputy with the car and then drove off as other officers chased after him.
They say the pursuit started on Rock Springs Road right around the same time that Robinson rammed a sergeant's patrol car. The chase ended seconds later on Rock Springs and Kelly Park Road when the car crashed. Robinson tried to get away on foot, but was taken into custody shortly after.
A spokeswoman said the deputies did not suffer any major injuries. Meanwhile, Robinson faces multiple charges including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with a motor vehicle and driving with a revoked license.
