24-year-old Jorge Santiago brought his 5-month-old child to the emergency room.
He told investigators that the child was injured while he was holding him while sitting in a chair and bent down to pick up a blanket.
At that point he heard a pop sound and the child began to cry.
However, when Santiago was brought to the Kissimmee Police Department he changed his story.
He explained that he was frustrated with his son while changing his diaper and at one point, he forced the child’s legs up in the air.
When he sat the child down, that is when he heard the popping noise and the child began crying.
Santiago has been charged with aggravated child abuse and is being held on a $2,500 bond.
The child was taken to Nemours Children’s Hospital to receive additional treatment.
