Local charity filling baskets with ‘love’ for families in need

An Orlando-based non-profit organization is collecting donations and money to bill baskets with needed supplies for the holidays.

One Heart for Women and Children calls the effort "Baskets Filled With Love."

Founder and CEO Stephanie Bowman tells News 96.5 WDBO they’re collecting essential items that may not be immediately thought of when people are donating for the holidays.

“In that laundry basket, it will have laundry detergent,  dish detergent, hand towels, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies and gift card for Christmas dinner to either Publix or Walmart,” said Bowman.

You can donate either items to go in the baskets, or money to purchase the supplies.

The deadline to donate is Saturday, December 16.
