Florida man becomes internet star over 'stolen' chicken nuggets from Burger King

A Burger King worker has become an internet sensation after claiming he stole all the chicken nuggets from Burger King on his last day on the  job. Turns out, he was just having some fun.

John Correa, 18, (who goes by Zealot on Twitter), posted a picture to social media of a couple of bags of the frozen chicken nuggets lovingly placed in the passenger seat of his car, strapped in with a seatbelt for safety.

In the caption he writes: "TODAY WAS MY LAST DAY WORKING AT BURGER KING SO I TOOK ALL OF THEIR NUGGETS, F*CK IT."

Twitter users have dubbed Zealot a "hero" for sticking it to the man.

"A true AMERICAN hero," writes Poe Dameron.

The photo was retweeted more than 23,000 times but according to Local 10, Correa is actually still employed at the Burger King and didn't really steal anything.

"I just wanted to bring attention to how easily people are influenced by what they see on social media," Correa said.

The sly teen says he took the photo after his manager asked him to go pick up some extra chicken nuggets from another store. After posting to Twitter, the picture went viral, much to the amusement of his co-workers.

"My managers saw the post and they laughed."
