Winter Park, Fla. — Just one week after the deadly shooting at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement says they have arrested a man who made online threats to a Walmart in Orange County.
Leaders say an investigation began on Tuesday after 26 year old Richard Dean Clayton of Winter Park posted a threat on Facebook, saying :" 3 more days of probation left, then I get my AR-15 back. Don't go to Walmart next week." The arrest on Friday came after a joint investigation by the FDLE, the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Winter Park Police Department.
A news release says that Clayton appears to be a white supremacist and has had a history of making threats on Facebook under fake accounts.
Clayton was arrested without incident and has been booked into the Orange County jail. His bond has been set at $250,000 and his case will be dealt with by the Office of the State Attorney, 9th Judicial Circuit.
