Osceola County, Fla. — A multi-vehicle crash on State Road 429 Tuesday evening has killed two women and a child, several others were also seriously injured, according to Florida Highway Patrol
It happened around 5:30 p.m. on State Road 429 at Sinclair Road when a pickup truck rear ended a van carrying eight people, causing it to overturn. The truck then hit two other vehicles.
Two women and a 5-year-old girl were killed, but her twin sister was not injured, FHP said.
According to Osceola County Fire Rescue spokesperson Andrew Sullivan, emergency crews had to extricate people from inside the flipped van. In total there were four adults and four children in the vehicle.
An 11-year-old boy is in critical condition and unresponsive. Two men are in reportedly in stable condition at a hospital.
The van was a rental, all eight people are family members were from out of state, FHP said.
The southbound lanes of State Road 429 were closed for hours near I-4 while troopers investigated the scene.
